One of our largest spends each year is what used to be called the quota, or share, now called the good will offer because we choose how much to send to the Diocese. It is over £30,000 per year and it helps pay for the salaries, houses and pensions of incumbents as well as the central functions of the Church of England.

Many of you already donate money by standing order, others give regularly in the yellow gift aid envelopes that are in the pews each week, or through the weekly envelopes. We are very grateful for your contributions. Both are valuable sources of income: both the cash in the envelopes and the tax we can claim back on your behalf (it can be £1000’s on top of what you give).

You may also donate online. You can make individual payments, or you can set up a regular standing order to the bank details below. In the short term, switching to online payments will help us through this crisis, and in the long term it will reduce our costs and make gathering our income more efficient.  Our bank details are:

PCC OF SHERBURN IN ELMET
SORT CODE 40-41-45
ACCOUNT NUMBER 21117254

Selby Food Bank

Our food collection point is in the Vicarage porch, Sherburn Church and Micklefield Church. There are regular deliveries to the food bank.

However, if you find it difficult to get out to buy and donate food so if you want to support the food bank, you can make a financial donation instead. If you make the donation to church using the above bank details, and put ‘FOOD BANK’ in the reference, we will transfer it on to the food bank’s account.

Volunteering

Throughout the year or on a regular basis there are opportunities to volunteer within the Church and community. Please speak to us if you are interested in giving any time to help.

We are always grateful of any support and it goes along way to maintaining our parish churches and helping our community.
