Sing Joy! A Choir for Young People

Want to try a relaxed and friendly choir for young people, with a taste for good biscuits? Sing Joy! is a successful initiative, enjoyed by a variety of school aged children from both the church and the wider community, looking at a spectrum of music as well as some matters of theory and technique. We have learnt several very beautiful songs, performed at Christmas fairs and in school halls, and have robed for Eucharists and traditional carol services. There is something for every child in Sing Joy!

Know a child who loves to sing?

The research-backed benefits of group singing are numerous – from calming the heart rate, to boosting the immune system and increasing positive mood and self-esteem. Providing this opportunity to help improve both physical and mental wellbeing and create a safe space to enjoy music together, can only be a good thing!

Individual and group tuition formats are supported by grant funding from the Ouseley Church Music Trust. Singing lessons are available for enthusiastic children by means of this funding.

Will it work for our family?

• Yes – whilst we do need regular attendance, we also completely understand the variables of family life.
• Safeguarding is taken seriously, with trained and DBS checked adults present throughout contact time with Sing Joy. Several parents also usually remain in church during sessions.
• No previous experience is necessary – just an appetite to participate and learn!

We meet at All Saints’ on Thursdays at 6:15pm during term time.

Sing Joy! often sing as part of the monthly Sung Eucharist on the 4th Sunday of each month at 10:45, plus special occasions and other external performances as booked.
