When there is a fifth Sunday in the month, there is only one service in the benefice which begins at 10.00am held at each church in turn.
History
St Mary the Virgin Church opened in 1861 when the new parish of Micklefield was created. Micklefield’s history is tried up with a couple of centuries of coal mining: Micklefield and Peckfield collieries both opened during the nineteenth century, but mining in the area ended during the nineteen-eighties.
