please remember to keep the last five minutes before the services, and especially the time during the administration of Holy Communion,

for quiet prayer and reflection (a bell will be rung before the main service at Sherburn)

 

 

A special welcome today to the Archdeacon of York, The Ven Sarah Bullock, who is attending the breakfast in Sherburn Church Hall this morning as part of the Archbishop's Mission weekend in Selby Deanery, and then preaching at the main service.

 

Aberford Church the  much enjoyed, jolly and successful Quiz Night and Supper on 24 November was organised following the Archbishop's directive to reach out to parishioners. Many thanks to Quiz Masters Ruth and Pippa, to Rosemary and team for the splendid supper and of course to all who took part. The total raised on the night was £330.00 for church funds. Sherburn Church Hall Caretaker:  sadly Jess is leaving, so we once again need a new caretaker, starting 8 January.  If you, or anyone you know, might be interested please speak to Angie.

 

Flower Rota, Sherburn:  this will be properly re-started in the New Year.  Meanwhile, anyone willing to help with the flowers should please speak to Susan Cox (01977 682426).

•  Saturday 23 December - help needed please to make Christingles at Sherburn, 10.00am, in the Church Hall - contact Elizabeth Wilton.

 

• Mondays, 7.30-9.00pm: Sherburn Ecumenical Home Fellowship, this week at Peter & Sylvia Earnshaw's, 16 Showfield Close.  This will be the last meeting until the New Year and will be a review of our meetings. We will also have tea and mince pies.  All welcome.

 

•  'OASIS': This is an opportunity to take time out of our busy noisy world and seek a safe  quiet place, perhaps to pray, for quiet reflection, to light a candle or to talk to someone who will listen. Sherburn Methodist Church will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays 1.30pm-3.30pm - please do call in.  Please contact Howard Croft (01977 682919) for more information.
