please remember to keep the last five minutes before the services, and especially the time during the administration of Holy Communion,

for quiet prayer and reflection (a bell will be rung before the main service at Sherburn)

 

 

A SPECIAL WELCOME to Lucy Joyce Allanson and Eleanor Jane Cawkwell Slade being baptised at Sherburn today and to all their families and friends.

The Revd Martin Otter will be instituted in his new parish on Monday 5 March at 7.30pm at All Saints, Rufforth, and everyone is very welcome to attend this service to support him.  If you need transport, please speak to Fr Chris or the churchwardens.

 

Easter Lilies: the list for Easter lilies is now available at the back of Sherburn church.  Lilies are £3.50 per stem, and may be given in memory of a loved one.  Please give money to Angie or a churchwarden, together with a note of your name and how many lilies, by al Sunday, 25 March.  Similarly at Barkston, lilies are £3.50 a stem, money to be given to Gwyneth or Peter.

(1)  Journeys of Redemption, five Tuesdays, 7.30pm at St Joseph's, Sherburn, retiring collections for Christian Aid;

 

(2) Sherburn Lent Lunches with addresses on 'Christ and the Chocolaterie', five Thursdays, 12.30pm, Eucharist in church, then lunch in the Church Hall.  Collections for USPG.  Volunteers to make soup and set up for the last two sessions (15 and 22 March) welcomed! - please speak to Angie.

•  The next Café-Breakfast at Sherburn will be  held on Sunday 25 March (Palm Sunday), 9.00am, Sherburn Church Hall.

 

•  Sunday 30 September 2018 (a fifth Sunday): Service of Confirmation by the Bishop of Selby, at Sherburn.  Please contact Fr Chris if you wish to be confirmed.

 

•  The next Pilgrimage to the Holy Land will be early next year, 11-22 February 2019.  Please speak to Fr Chris as soon as possible if you are interested - names, numbers and deposits are needed by mid-March.

 

•  Mondays 7.30pm-9.00pm: Sherburn Ecumenical Home Fellowship - no meetings until after Easter.

 

•  The Pilgrim Course (Tuesday afternoons) resumes after Easter.
